Who is NLEC (Nevada Law Enforcement Coalition)?
Updated On: Nov 29, 2018

NLEC is made up of over 10,000 law enforcement officers from the State of Nevada - 10,000!!! We are not the only police association to endorse Sisolak. In addition to NSLEOA and NAPSO, some of the other unions/associations included in the NLEC are the Las Vegas Police Protective Association (LVPPA or Metro’s union), Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Las Vegas Peace Officer Association (LVPOA), Henderson Police Supervisor’s Association (HPSA), Las Vegas Metro Police Manager’s and Supervisor’s Association (PMSA), Reno Police Protective Association (RPPA), Peace Officers’ Research Association of Nevada (PORAN), and Washoe County Sheriff Deputies Association. In addition, there are many other very strong unions that have endorsed Sisolak such as the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), AFCME, Teamsters, Clark County Education Association (CCEA), CWA, Culinary Workers Union Local 226, AFL-CIO, Professional Firefighters of Nevada (PFFN), Communications Workers of America (CWA), Clark County Marshals (CCDMA), Las Vegas Police Protective Association Civilian Employees (LVPPACE), and others. Again, this will be our best chance for collective bargaining and to then achieve all those fringe benefits that we are so lacking with respect to other regional and state police agency benefits which our LE counterparts enjoy. Some of these fringe benefits are small when they stand alone, but collectively add up to a significant increase in your pay and benefits. Just a few examples include minimum court call-back hours, uniform allowance, senior officer pay, educational incentive pay, paid college credits, specialty pay for K-9, motor officer, field training officer, instructor, motor carrier officer, evidence technician, paid stipend when health insurance is declined because you are on your spouse’s insurance, detective pay, and others.
